It seems like the fight of the century has finally been agreed upon by both parties. The Sun reported that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have reached a financial agreement for the much spoken about boxing match between the two. The only thing that’s in the way of making the fight happen right now is a “3rd party”. Who that 3rd party might be? Our guess is the UFC.
Conor McGregor has a contract with the UFC which he is obligated to honor. This also means he can’t fight in any other promotion unless the UFC gives permission. According to McGregor this is no problem for the boxing match as he can still fight under the Ali act while under contract with the UFC. Last month in his PPV interview in Manchester he said he’d rather have the UFC on-board with the boxing match in a joint promotion with Mayweather Promotions, McGregor Sports Entertainment and the UFC. This way everyone can profit and no-one gets left behind, according to “the notorious.”
It now seems 2 of the 3 parties have reached a handshake deal in regards to the financial situation of the fight. The only party that has to get on-board now is the “3rd party.”
